Artist Statement 2022
Experiencing life as ‘One World’ opens my eyes to the similarities and the differences surrounding me. I see light, energy, and the soul of the individual or experience all held within the interconnecting web of life.
I started painting my One World series at the beginning of 2020, painting my way through a pandemic, George Floyd killing, fires raging throughout our continent, semi’s storing bodies, and the exhaustion of front line workers and humanity at large. We all experienced the truth of being one world.
I paint to free my spirit and to allow me to say in paint what I could not fully express with words. With color I can be bold, bright, playful, mysterious, tender, as well as tell a story, expressing the unusual, the curious, or the suprising nature of a thing.
I hope these paintings might connect others to their own journey, finding common ground in the human experience.
