Joy rises in the morning light
as I step out from dreams of the night
into presence of a moment.
Joy rises with the first breath of sunrise,
eyes open in a prayer of gratitude,
with choices made for a day of creation.
Joy rises in the peace of a quiet moment,
in the eyes of the beloved,
in a heart that knows no bounds.
Peace rises.
