The sky winked me awake this morning
Like God tapped me on the shoulder
To say, “Let’s dance together today.
Let’s twirl, and laugh, and love.”
At sunset we bow—
One to the other—
Smile with eyes open, as one.
Could I have a more loving dance partner?
Maybe next time I won’t wait to be asked.
