The Colors of Peace

What colors will I choose to color this grey morning?
A swath of blue calms my spirit.
A streak of lemon-yellow stirs joy with desire.
A dot of red brings heat to heart.
When mixed, I feel the energy of earth
and rest in harmony
with all the colors before and within me.

I find repose in this spectrum of light and hue.
The tranquil rose that reads like a poem.
The dark and white contrast of eagle
that soars above my home and head.
The brown tannin of the river
that flows at the edge of our land.

I settle into color secure in my place on earth.
For now—in this moment—this grey morning
transforms into the colors of peace.

  1. Beautiful. . . .I have been thinking a lot about peace, and using the colors to describe peaceful feelings within evokes calm and. . .peace. Thank you!
