I am taking a little break from poetry. I have completed my Heart Coherence art and poetry series and am taking a pause until I receive a message as to where I next find inspiration.
Eight paintings need hours of attention as I title, apply isolation coats, varnish, frame, and ready for hanging.
Gaia was supposedly finished earlier this year but I did not feel satisfied. I reentered this piece with the encouragement of friend and sculptor BT Johnson who encouraged me to be brave and go for it. I am ever grateful for the push as I painted more complexity in the sky, the earth, and her hair as a waterfall which I was originally trying to achieve.
I now feel at peace with it and the process as I recognize the fear of ruining what I had even when I desired something more.
We doubt ourselves in the comfort of what is. We give in to the comfort as we fear the change.
“Change is hard because people overestimate the value of what they have and underestimate the value of what they may gain by giving that up” by James Belasco and Ralph Stayer.

🥰
You have given us some many beautiful words of poetry on which to contemplate for some time.
It’s nice you are giving yourself time off to focus on your painting touch ups and details. Blessings, Janis.
Thank you Eileen. ❤️ I am sorry I missed seeing you this morning.
