We sat heart to heart
and spoke of grief
as winds whipped
and rain fell.
We tumbled inside
as a ribbon of color
touched sky to water
and we paused in wonder.
Smiles rose up within,
possibilities awakened,
and the lightness of joy
was tinged with hue.
We laughed.
